It is said that there is no health without mental health. At the Triloka Centre you will find a mental health practitioner who can help you.
Psychologists are your specialists in mental health. They have more mental health and psychotherapy training and experience than any other health professional. This includes at least eleven years of education and training as well as over 4500 hours of supervised clinical training. Psychologists are trained in a biological-psychological-social model of mental health, which recognizes the relative contribution of all of these factors in diagnosis and treatment intervention. Psychologists are regulated and licensed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
How do Psychologists treat mental health conditions?
Psychologists are doctors who assess, diagnose, and treat the same patient populations as psychiatrists and psychotherapists, including individuals who present with mental illness, brain injury and disease, developmental disabilities, chronic health conditions, and life stressors. Psychologists commonly work alongside a family physician and/or psychiatrist who may be managing your medication, offering you psychological assessments and long-term psychotherapy options.
